Pawhuska Gets Wins on Day 2 of Cleveland Tournament

On day two of the Cleveland Tournament, the Pawhuska Huskies found themselves on opposite sides of the bracket after the boys fell on the first day, while the girls got a first round win. Both the boys and girls got wins on Friday, with the girls playing for a championship against Skiatook on Saturday and the boys playing against Mingo Valley for a consolation championship.

The Lady Huskies were taking on Metro Christian and after a slow offensive start, Pawhuska went on to dominate the Lady Patriots, winning 52-19. It took four minutes for Pawhuska to score its first point of the game, but once the Lady Huskies got in a groove, they didn't get out of it. Hannah Reynolds had a team high 22 points, including this buzzer beater at the end of the first quarter.

On the guys side, it was Pawhuska advancing to the consolation championship after getting a 40-33 win over Pryor. The first quarter was a struggle offensively. Pryor led 5-2 at the end of one, but the Husky offense found some rhythym in the second quarter.

It was another buzzer beater heading into the halftime break that gave Pawhuska some much-needed momentum.

No coverage of today's games from day three of the Cleveland tournament, as we will be live from Pawhuska for the Christmas Parade, but we will re-join the Huskies on Tuesday as they travel to Frontier.
